The Joyful Eating Program

Running in four, eight and twelve week blocks I offer a dietary lifestyle makeover.  Working with a naturopath of your choice I can provide, information, technical guidance, organizational material and support to make the dietary changes you need as well as making you the Master Chef of your own life.  My goal is to get you excited about food again.  Lets ditch the guilt and dig in to a life of delicious and personalized meals that make you look and feel good all of the time.

What Does The Joyful Eating Program Offer?

  • First and foremost this program offers PERSONALIZATION.  Everything is created and organized specifically for you.  Everything is designed to make the biggest difference in your life with the least amount of disruption as possible to your “normal”.


  • A collection of personalized recipes based on a combination of your specific food preferences and dietary needs 


  • Alterations to existing favourite recipes that you already use.


  • A personalized meal plan based on your specific schedule and lifestyle needs


  • A personalized shopping list to go with your meal plan


  • Education on how to build an easy and nutritious plate on your own


  • Personalized notes regarding food substitutions, in some cases including specific brands


  • Personalized notes regarding how to read food labels more accurately 


  • A guided tour of your favourite grocery store to discuss the most effective way for you to shop for your new lifestyle


  • Suggestions on which kitchen tools will best suit your needs 


  • An in person tour of your kitchen to discuss what foods to have on hand and how to read labels.


  • Regular in person/online appointments to discuss your progress, make required adjustments to your program and answer your questions.


  • Additional support via text or email between appointments.


  • Long term emotional and technical support while you learn to incorporate this new eating style into your life on a permanent basis.


  • Cooking Classes upon request (additional fee).

HOW DOES IT WORK?


THE FIRST STEP


  •   Make an appointment with me for a free initial consultation.  This appointment can be in person if you are local to the Kelowna/West Kelowna area, or by Zoom if you prefer.  We will discuss what prompted your to begin looking for assistance, what your particular needs and obstacles are and any other information that you feel might be pertinent to the situation.  This is also an opportunity for you to ask me any questions about myself or my program and decide if you would like to proceed to the next steps.


WEEK ONE AND TWO


  • INTAKE FORM.  You will need to fill out an intake form. I encourage you to take your time and fill it out thoughtfully.  I will use it to help me better understand your likes, dislikes and current eating habits.  It is best if you can complete this form by the end of Week One. 


  • NATUROPATH.  I would prefer that you work with a qualified Naturopath or Medical Dietician in your area.  I am not a qualified medical professional and so I prefer that you get your medical advice from your Naturopath.  I am here to help you translate that advice from theory into practical action.  Naturopathic services are usually covered by extended medical benefits.   


  • FOOD SENSITIVITY BLOOD TEST.  If you have not already you will need to have a Food Sensitivity test completed. I will require a copy of the results as well as permission to discuss these results with your Naturopath.  I do this because, no matter what your new eating program is meant to treat, if you are eating foods that your body does not know how to process it will impair your progress.  It would be best if I was able to access these results before the end of Week One as I require it to create your plan.


  • IN PERSON APPOINTMENT.  This appointment can be in your home if you are local to the Kelowna/West Kelowna area, or by Zoom if you prefer.   This is an opportunity for us to discuss any questions you have about this process.  I will also use this time to provide you with some information about meal prep


  • FOOD DIARY.  You will need to complete a 2 week food diary. Do not panic, this is not your typical food diary. There is no judgment here.  I do not need to know about portions or calories.  I am trying to get a feel for what sorts of foods, textures and flavour profiles you enjoy on a regular basis, where/what you eat if you eat out,  as well as getting an idea of your personal meal schedule.  All of these items help me prepare recipes and a meal plan that are most in-line with your life.  My goal is to make this transition as comfortable as possible for you!  


  WEEK THREE


  • MEAL PLAN.  While you are busy in the first two weeks providing me with all of your information, I will be busy behind the scenes using all of your information to create your recipes and Week One of your meal plan along with 15 recipes to go along with your meal plan.    All of this information will be available to you online.


  • IN PERSON APPOINTMENT.  This appointment can be in person if you are local to the Kelowna/West Kelowna area, or by Zoom if you prefer.   This is an opportunity to discuss the meal plan and recipes I have created for you and answer any questions you might have about it.  


  • KITCHEN TOUR.  Week Three is a good to schedule your personal kitchen tour if you would like to use that option.  This appointment can be in person if you are local to the Kelowna/West Kelowna area, or by Zoom if you prefer.  We will take a look at your kitchen, the tools you will need for your plan and if you like we can go through your pantry and fridge together and discuss ingredients and alternative options.


 WEEK FOUR


  • PUT IT INTO PRACTICE.   During this week you will be testing out your new meal plan.  I will be available by text or email during this time to support you through this new process.


  • SHOPPING TRIP.  Week Four is a good week to schedule your guided shopping trip if you would like to use that option.   This appointment can be in person if you are local to the Kelowna/West Kelowna area, or by Zoom if you prefer.  We will take a tour of your favourite grocery store together and discuss how best to shop for your needs.


SECOND TIER


 WEEK FIVE


  • MEAL PLAN: At the beginning of Week Five I will provide you with the second week of your Meal Plan and the next 15 recipes that will go along with your meal plan . 


  • IN PERSON APPOINTMENT.  This appointment can be in person if you are local to the Kelowna/West Kelowna area, or by Zoom if you prefer.   This is an opportunity to discuss the meal plan and recipes I have created for you and answer any questions you might have about it.


WEEK SIX


  • PUT IT INTO PRACTICE.  During this week you will be testing out your new meal plan.  I will be available by text or email during this time to support you through this new process.


WEEK 7


  • PUT IT INTO PRACTICE.  During this week you will be testing out your new meal plan.  I will be available by text or email during this time to support you through this new process. 


  • IN PERSON APPOINTMENT.  This appointment can be in person if you are local to the Kelowna/West Kelowna area, or by Zoom if you prefer.   This is an opportunity to discuss the meal plan and recipes I have created for you and answer any questions you might have about it.  This will be the last opportunity for my 8 Week clients to swap out any recipes that do not work for you.


WEEK 8


  • PUT IT INTO PRACTICE.   During this week you will be testing out your new meal plan.  I will be available by text or email during this time to support you through this new process.


THIRD TIER


 WEEK NINE


  • MEAL PLAN: At the beginning of Week Five I will provide you with the second week of your Meal Plan and the next 15 recipes that will go along with your meal plan .

  • IN PERSON APPOINTMENT.  This appointment can be in person if you are local to the Kelowna/West Kelowna area, or by Zoom if you prefer.  This is an opportunity for us to discuss your experience and ask any final questions you might have.  This will be the last opportunity for you to swap out any recipes that do not work for you.



WEEK TWELVE


  • PUT IT INTO PRACTICE.  During this week you will be testing out your new meal plan.  I will be available by text or email during this time to support you through this new process.
